Visit of Ambassador Johann Sattler

 

His Excellency Ambassador Johann Sattler, the Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Bosnia and Herzegovina and the European Union Special Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, has paid a visit to the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina today.

The President of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zlatko M. Knežević and Vice President of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mato Tadić received his Excellency Ambassador Sattler on a working visit.

President Knežević informed Ambassador Sattler of the facts about the constitutional position, organization, composition and functioning of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and of the relevant information about the work of the Constitutional Court of BiH. President Knežević, Vice President Tadić and Ambassador Sattler talked, among other things, about the position of the Constitutional Court of BiH in the constitutional law structure of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as about the importance of decisions of the Constitutional Court of BiH in the legal system of Bosnia and Herzegovina. An emphasis was placed on a very successful cooperation between the Constitutional Court of BiH and the Delegation of the European Union to Bosnia and Herzegovina and the European Union Special Representative in BiH. Ambassador Sattler officially presented President Knežević and Vice President Tadić with the “European Commission Opinion on Bosnia and Herzegovina’s application for membership of the European Union”.

Ambassador Sattler extended his gratitude for the reception, exchange of opinion and information he received during the visit, and voiced his unconditional support to the integrity and independence of the Constitutional Court of BiH, particularly in the segment of the rule of law and the protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms.
