The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Ms. Michelle Bachelet, together with the delegation, has paid a visit to the Constitutional Court today. The High Commissioner met with the President of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mato Tadić and the Vice-President Mirsad Ćeman and the associates. President Tadić and Vice-President Ćeman informed the High Commissioner and the delegation on the work of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and current state of the human rights in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The High Commissioner has shown special interest in the role of the Constitutional Court in the enforcement of the decision of the European Court of Human Rights, the issue of prohibition of discrimination in enjoyment of human rights and freedoms and areas showing most human rights violations in BiH. Finally, the High Commissioner has expressed gratitude for the reception, exchange of information and opinions. She emphasized the importance of the role of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina in maintaining the rule of law and expressed her wish for a continued successful work in the future.
