Visit of the Ambassador - Chairman of the Arbitration Tribunal for the Dispute on the Inter-Entity Demarcation Line in the Brčko Region and the First Deputy High Representative and Supervisor

His Excellency John Clint Williamson, Ambassador - Chairman of the Arbitration Tribunal for the Dispute on the Inter-Entity Demarcation Line in the Brčko Region, and Jonathan Mennuti, First Deputy High Representative and Supervisor for the Brčko District, visited the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina today.

His Excellency, Ambassador Williamson and Mr. Mennuti were received for a working visit by the President of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ms. Valerija Galić with the Registrar, Sevima Sali-Terzić and the Head of Office of the President, Erda Začiragić.

The President spoke with Ambassador Williamson and Mr. Mennuti about the work and functioning of the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is emphasized that the jurisdiction of the Arbitration Tribunal for the District of Brčko will continue until the conclusion of the supervision, when the conditions are met. Very good work of the ordinary courts in the Brčko District is indicated, as well as the fact that in cases from the appellate jurisdiction of the Constitutional Court of BiH concerning the contested decisions of the ordinary courts in the Brčko District, the Constitutional Court finds the least violations of human rights protected by the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, when percentage is taken into account, in comparison to other ordinary courts in Bosnia and Herzegovina. During the meeting, experiences are also exchanged about the hitherto successful cooperation between the OHR and the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Ambassador Williamson and Mr. Mennuti conveyed their gratitude for the reception, exchange of opinions and information they received from President Galić during the visit. They emphasized the importance of the role of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the legal system of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and expressed their full support for the work of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
