Visit of the delegation of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia

A delegation of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia, headed by His Excellency, professor Anwar Usman, the former Judge and President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia, and His Excellency Manahan Malontinge Pardamean Sitompul, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Bosnia and Herzegovina, also the former Judge and President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia, together with associates, have paid a visit to the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina. At the initiative of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia, this visit led to the establishment of a cooperation between the two courts.

The delegation was received by President of the Constitutional Court Mirsad Ćeman and Judges Marin Vukoja and Larisa Velić.

The talks were conducted with the aim of mutual exchange of information regarding the normative framework, constitutional court traditions and the methods of operation of the courts of the two friendly countries. Both sides presented the fundamental elements of their jurisdiction, internal organization, decision-making processes in constitutional court matters, the procedure for electing judges, and other issues significant to the work of the highest judicial institutions of the two states.

The fruitful and comprehensive discussion and exchange of information aimed to enhance mutual understanding of institutional frameworks and case law. They expressed their readiness to further strengthen inter-institutional cooperation.

Furthermore, the two delegations expressed the commitment of both the individual judges and the institutions to the affirmation of human rights and freedoms, as well as law and justice in general, within the scope of their jurisdiction.

The Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina was invited to pay a visit to the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia. The delegation of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina expressed its appreciation for the invitation received.
