Representatives of the OSCE Election Observation Mission (ODIHR EOM), including Deputy Head of Mission Elissavet Karagiannidou, Legal Analyst Svetlana Chetaikina, and Legal Analyst Assistant Tarik Ekmeščić, visited the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina today as part of their official mission ahead of the upcoming general elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The ODIHR EOM representatives were received by the Vice-President of the Constitutional Court Valerija Galić, Secretary General Nataša Vuković, Registrar Erda Začiragić, and the Head of Constitutional Case-Law Section Ermina Dumanjić.
Vice-President Galić presented the ODIHR EOM representatives the information regarding the constitutional position, organization, and functioning of the Constitutional Court of BiH, as well as the Court's jurisdiction and case-law concerning elections and the electoral process in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Special attention was paid to the role of the Constitutional Court in protecting constitutionality and ensuring compliance with the constitutional principles relevant to the exercise of electoral rights and the functioning of the electoral system.
The ODIHR EOM representatives thanked the Vice-President of the Constitutional Court and her associates for the reception, the open exchange of views, and the information provided to them.
The visit was marked by a professional and constructive exchange of information on issues of importance for the electoral process in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
