Working meeting with a Delegation of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina



Today, on 12 April 2017, Mr. Mirsad Ćeman, the President of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Mato Tadić, the Vice-President of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Hercegovina, Mr. Miodrag Simović, a Judge of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Hercegovina, and Mr. Zvonko Mijan, the Registrar of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Hercegovina met with the delegation of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

On behalf of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Acting Chief Prosecutor Gordana Tadić and prosecutors Izet Odobašić and Miroslav Marković attended the meeting.

At the meeting, the participants discussed current issues related to the functioning of the Constitutional Court and the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as the role of the two institutions in the realization of the rule of law and efficiency of the judicial system in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In this context, the meeting stressed the need for continuing cooperation and exchange of information on all the reasons in the interest of the Constitutional Court of BiH and the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH.  

Special attention was paid to the issue of the enforcement of decisions of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where the law provides for an important role for the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina in case of non-enforcement of such decisions.

The participants at the meeting agreed that successful resolution of issues and efficient cooperation of the two respective institutions will contribute to the exercise of constitutionality, establishment of the rule of law and protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
