Visit of the Ambassador – Head of the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina

 

Her Excellency Kathleen Kavalec, Ambassador - Head of the OSCE Mission, visited the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the first time since her appointment to the current position.

Her Excellency Ambassador Kavalec was received for a working visit by President of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zlatko M. Knežević and Vice President of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mirsad Ćeman.

President Knežević and Vice-President Ćeman presented to the Ambassador the facts about the constitutional position, organization and functioning of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina. They also discussed the place and role of the Constitutional Court of BiH in the constitutional structure of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the importance of decisions of the Constitutional Court of BiH in the legal system of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the importance of their implementation. The emphasis was placed on the very successful cooperation between the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the domain of promoting and enhancing human rights and rule of law.

Ambassador Kavalec expressed her gratitude for reception, exchange of views and information she received from President Knežević and Vice President Ćeman during the visit. She emphasized the importance of the role of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the legal system of Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially in the segment of protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms and the segment of the rule of law, and wished the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina a successful continuation of its work.
