Seminar on "Observance of Human Rights and Freedoms in Criminal Proceedings"



The Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with and support of the British Embassy and the AIRE Centre (Advice on Individual Rights in Europe), organized a seminar on "Observance of Human Rights and Freedoms in Criminal Proceedings". The seminar was organized with a view to improving the implementation of the European Convention on Human Rights and supporting Bosnia and Herzegovina's judicial system preparing for the European integration.

President of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mr. Zlatko M. Knežević gave welcoming remarks expressing his support to the work of the seminar.

Dr Krešimir Kamber, Jurisconsult Office of the European Court of Human Rights, gave the lecture on: “Legality of Evidence in Criminal Proceedings, with Special Emphasis on Special Investigative Actions in the Light of Respect for Human Rights and Freedoms”. Ms. Mirjana Lazarova Trajkovska, former Judge of the European Court of Human Rights and the participants discussed the legality of evidence in criminal proceedings with a special emphasis on special investigative actions in the light of respect for human rights and freedoms.

The seminar was attended by legal advisors and judicial associates of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Seminar participants exchanged views and stances on the case-law of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the European Court of Human Rights in order to contribute to enhancing the protection of human rights and freedoms of all citizens.
