President Ćeman attending the International Conference and VII St. Petersburg International Legal Forum

Upon invitation of the President of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation and Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation, President of the Constitutional Court of BiH, Mirsad Ćeman, is participating at the International Conference entitled „Constitutional Justice: Doctrine and Practice“ and VII St. Petersburg International Legal Forum, which is being held from 15 to 19 May 2017 in St. Petersburg, Russian Federation.

President Ćeman presented his paper on the subject of the Conference entitled „Constitutional Justice: Doctrine and Practice of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina“ which will be printed in the Conference Proceedings.

International Conference organized by the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation is being held on the occasion of marking the 25 years of the work of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation. The International Conference „Constitutional Justice: Doctrine and Practice“ marked the beginning of the work of the seventh International Legal Forum, which has now become a traditional one. President Mirsad Ćeman is also taking active participation in its work.

President met with a number of presidents and judges of the constitutional courts and other courts as well as legal experts attending the events of the International Conference and VII St. Petersburg International Legal Forum.

During his stay in St. Petersburg President Ćeman will pay a visit to the Library of the Academy of Sciences of the Russian Federation and view the Charter of Kulin Ban being kept in the Library.

The Charter of Kulin Ban is the first known diplomatic document (a treaty) issued by one Bosnian ruler to the ruler of another state (Dubrovnik/Republic of Ragusa) and written in the national language. Thus its value for the history of Bosnia in the Middle Ages is immeasurable.
